The Wema Joker 7000

This isn't your typical wood lathe and the columns it turns are no joke whatsoever. We upgraded to the Joker when we saw it at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta in 2006. We simply fell in love with the perfect columns it could turn time after time. We knew in order for our mantels with columns to be perfect we had to take a step forward in making the very best columns possible. That's exactly what we did. The Joker's columns are featured on mantels such as the Williamsport, Burlington, Lewisburg, Portsmouth, Harrisburg with full round columns, and a few other special projects.

Manufactured in Germany, the Wema Joker series lathes consist of heavy-duty
cast iron bases, which are completely rigid, and torsion free in construction.

Some of the key elements of this latest generation of hydraulic copy lathes are:
The application of hardened ball transfer guide’s which the carriage rides on.
Having the hardened guides on the bed ways, and the ball bearing slides on the
carriage, assures a superior cut quality and dependability.

The lathe knives are positioned very close to the revolving steadies assuring maximum work piece support and vibration free turning.
