Every now and again we receive an email like this referring to how the fireplace mantels look like caskets when they arrive. This is true but don't be afraid to open them up. We fully crate the fireplace mantels in 1/2" plywood so there is virtually no chance of damage during shipping. This isn't the most cost effective way of shipping, just the most effective way of making sure the mantels aren't damaged. There are several extra steps such as this that you may never know about until you've actually ordered one of our mantels.
